Board of Review date: 041618 time 630PM, for those who have everything signed off with the exception of SM Conference and BOR. Please let me know if you are planning on attending. I will also review merit badge completions. Some still have items left from 2017 summer camp and from merit badge weekend. 3. Start your Merit badge prerequisites for summer camp 2018. I am going to check and see how these are going through out the summer prior to summer camp. You will be asked to bring them in. 4. I am going to start citizenship in the community. However, if you are behind in your other requirements its going to be tough to have your do this one too. 5. May camp out: Guns and Grilling at Pepsico scout reservation. This appears to be fun. WEBELOS can not attend this event. 6. Troop elections are coming soon. We will be electing a Senior patrol Leader, and Patrol Leaders. We are changing and we wont have ast patrol leaders but we will have ast senior patrol leaders (2) which get appointed by the SPL. To be a candidate you must stand up in front of the troop /patrol and tell why you should be the SPL or PL. The current SPL can run for reelection. 7. First OA meeting May 1, 2018. It would be awesome to have all OA members at the first meeting of their OA career. I can give a ride to 4 and hopefully Jason and Ken will attend they can also give rides. Have a good day SM Rusty |

Scout Update 040318 NEW OA members in the Troop, April campout coming up, OA conclave coming up,Guns and Grilling coming up, Summer Camp approaching. New boy Scouts entering the troop! WOW, we are moving fast. Patrol Leader council has control of the troop, minor mistakes and minor growth obstacles but doing great. To keep up you need to look at the calendar. It is split between troop and pack. You can view both or one its your choice. I am trying to get in a routine to update it periodically so it is consistent. This question comes up frequently from scouts: "What am I getting out of this activity or camp out?" It may not be those exact words but it is relatively the same. The scout needs to participate so other scouts can benefit. Scouts need other scouts to participate so their leadership skills can grow. Don't get me wrong, Things come up and he scout can't always participate. Please don't just don't go because you are not getting a merit badge or a sign off. This is especially true if the scout is a first class or above. They need to participate when possible to teach and guide younger scouts. We need to experienced scouts to participate. For the most part our troop has been great in participation. The question does come up from time to time. |

Scout Update 012818 Troop, Freeze-O-Ree went well. CF did a great job organizing the Troop in individual competitions, and organizing the scouts for the Jimbos Jumbos event. It appears all the scouts enjoyed the weekend playing soccer and various other games they came up with. AW and AS worked on their Life Scout rank while using the EDGE method to teach NT the required knots, Lashings, Compass and orienteering. That was a huge success. NT finalized second class and obtained a few first class sign offs with the teachings and lessons he learned. NT has a Board of Review Monday 1-29-2018The PLC has taken control of the troop I am totally proud. GOD is with them. We have two new Candidates who were called out at the camp fire. JS and KF and will join the other five at the March Ordeal. Please look at the troop Calendars for up and coming events / meetings. Our next event is the pinewood derby race held at the Knapp gym. Refer to the calendar please YIS Scout Master Rusty |
